Hi, It's Saemi

Hi, I'm Saemi. I have a diverse background in Music, Beauty Art, Business, and Computer Science, and I am currently pursuing a Data Science course at Simon Fraser University. My journey has been a blend of creativity and technology, supported by a strong foundation in statistics and programming.

I began my programming journey with Java and C++, and over the years, I expanded my skills to include React, Next.js, Python, and web development. My interest lies in exploring UI design and creating user-friendly interfaces.

When I'm not coding, I dedicate myself to fitness and mental well-being. I'm passionate about calisthenics and have been training in aerial arts for five years, which helps me stay focused and healthy. Competing in aerial performances during breaks is something I enjoy, and one day, I hope to work in a circus for a small gig. The teamwork and deep connection with others during group performances are what drive me, as I love to understand and grow with my team members. Although I don't play video games regularly, Final Fantasy 14 inspired me to delve deeper into the coding world, and I aspire to create something equally beautiful. I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and have been lead climbing with my dad since childhood. My adventurous spirit has taken me to over 20 countries and 50 cities, where I’ve experienced extreme sports like bungee jumping and paragliding in Australia.

I believe in giving back to the community, which is why I volunteer as a hairdresser for those in need. I also love meeting new people and expanding my knowledge through interaction. I'm an active participant in developer meetups, such as Luma events, Vancouver.dev, and CS Dojo events, and I often co-host when the opportunity arises.
